  • 와룡산 아래 빼어난 금호강 하류지역

    • Location in Northwest Gate of Dalgubul

      Seo-gu settled down in the typical hill land, Nalmoe and field village around downstream of Geumhogang River and Dalseocheon under Waryongsan Mountain after Silla Dynasty. After forming the village, Seo-gu expanded the characteristics of the city. After development of urban district and establishment of industrial complex, Seo-gu got the current form.

    • Important Hub for Traffic and Regional Economy

      Seo-gu is the important spot with gate to Seoul-Busan railway, Central-Inland regions, Gwangju-Daegu, and Daegu-Busan Expressway. Seo-gu is also the important regional economy spot with Seodaegu Industrial Complex and Dyeing Industrial Complex.

  • Climatic Characteristics

    Due to geological influence of inland basin, Daegu has a unique meteorological phenomenon different from other regions. Thus, Daegu is classified as the special region. Daegu has high temperature range and annual rainfall is low. The annual temperature for Daegu regions is around 11 ~ 13℃ and annual rainfall is 900 ~ 1100mm, which is relatively low. The average maximum temperature in August is 31.3℃ and it’s higher than other regions in Korea. Such high temperature occurs because the air current drops vapor while moving along Taebaek Mountains and Sobaek Mountains and enters Daegu’s basin regions in dry condition.
